"Continuing in the Gospel in Difficult and Deceptive Times"

2nd Timothy 3

I want our church to recognize these difficult and deceptive times while faithfully continuing in the Gospel.

1.  Recognize difficult times and religious pretenders.    vv.1-5a

2.  Avoid religious pretenders.    vv.5b-9
      a.  What do they do?
           They creep in.
      b.  Why avoid them?
           They lead sinners and weak Christians astray.
      c.  Don't envy them!  They are corrupt, disqualified from the faith and will not win!

3.  Follow faithful examples.    vv.10-13

4.  Continue in the Gospel.    vv.14-17
      a.  Timothy knew his teachers.
      b.  Timothy knew the source.
      c.  Timothy knew the usefulness of the Scriptures.
           (1)  Power to save.
           (2)  Power to sanctify.
