Looking Back: The Price of Prayerlessness...Looking Ahead: The Prospects of Prayer

Jeremiah 33:1-3; James 4:1-3

1st Corinthians 3:12-13

1.  Prayerlessness prevents us from witnessing the Power of God.
      a.  We have the record of others who give witness to God's awesome wonders.
           Psdalm 44:1-3
      b.  We have our Lord's requirement to pray believing.
           John 11:40
      c.  We know the reason our Lord did not do many mighty works in Nazareth?
           Matthew 13:58

2.  Prayerlessness prevents us from receiving the Provisions of God.
      a.  We have reminders in the Bible that God is able to provide for His people.
      b.  We have Biblical reassurances of God's ability to provide for His people.
           Philippians 4:19; Ephesians 3:20-21
      c.  What are the resources that could have been ours to use for greater ministry?    you know not

3.  Prayerlessness proves that we do not believe the Promise of God.
      a.  We do not believe that our need is great.
      b.  We do not believe that we cannot meet our need.
      c.  We do not believe that God alone can meet our need.
           Hebrews 3:12; Mark 11:24

4.  Through prayer there is the prospect of seeing the Supernatural.
      a.  To see what is undeniably the work of God.
           Acts 4:31-33
      b.  To see what is humanly unexplainable.
           Psalms 118:23

5.  Through prayer there is the prospect of having Sufficiency.
      2nd Corinthians 9:8

6.  Through prayer there is the prospect of knowing Satisfaction.
      a.  In a difficult situation
           Jeremiah 33:1-3; Acts 1:14
      b.  In a divided congregation
           James 4:1-3; John 16:24
