3rd John 1:1-14

1.  Gaius:  John's Example of a Principled Man    vv.1-8
      a.  Gaius was healthy.  vv.1-4
           (1)  Internally:  His soul was healthy.
           (2)  Externally:  His steps were healthy.  "walk in truth"
      b.  Gaius was honorable.  v.5
           (1)  No matter the purpose, he was faithful.
           (2)  No matter the person, he was faithful.
      c.  Gaius was hospitable.

2.  Diotrephes:  John's Exposure of a Proud Man    vv.9-11
      a.  Diotrephes was haughty.  v.9a
           (1)  The haughty person is deceived.  Galatians 6:3
           (2)  The haughty person is disgraceful.  Romans 12:3
