Why Christmas?

Genesis 2:15-17; 3

1.  A Specific Command was Given.    Genesis 2:15-17
      a.  God establishes the law.  vv.15-17
      b.  God enforces the law.  Genesis 3:8-11
      c.  God exercises judgment according to His law.  Genesis 3:12-19
           (1)  Our God has the wisdom to know what is best for us.
           (2)  Our God has the right to stipulate the limitations He has determined for us.
           (3)  Our God has the authority to hold us accountable.

2.  A Spiritual Catastrophe Occurred.    Genesis 3:6-7
      Romans 5:12
      a.  Sin entered the world.
           Romans 8:18-22
      b.  Sin's effect was immediate and immeasurable.
           Genesis 1:31; 6:5-6

3.  A Special Child was Promised.    Genesis 3:15
      a.  The child would suffer.  And you shall bruise His heel.
           Revelation 12:9; 20:1-2
      b.  This child would succeed.  He shall bruise your head
           Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 9:24-28
